Solution
In Windows, the Operating system stays within the C:/ drive, any other driver or partition will be assign to another letter, that way you will always know what is where.

The 'X:' there is just an example of a letter. Your HDD's probably D:/

If that guide is complicated, you may follow this one:

They both do the same thing
The best option is to use an external drive as a temp storage, downloading any necessary drivers to the external. Once done, update them and switch to your SSD as a primary/boot drive. It will require you go to the BIOS and switch the order, otherwise it won't matter, most SSD installation is as simple as 1,2,3.

Driver, configurations or anything related to Windows performance/usability must(preferably) stay within the SSD( beucase it's where the system will look after ) for your OS to keep working properly, if you start taking those off it will eventualy stop functioning.

Yes, it's wiser to move your personal files to your HDD, pictures, games, videos, etc. that way not only will you save space in your SSD, you will prolong it's life span as well.

Just follow these steps and you will be able to change your home folders to a new location:
http://www.pcworld.com/article/3025345/windows/move-your-windows-10-libraries-to-a-separate-drive-or-partition.html
(That is, assuming you have already plugged the HDD in and formated it. If not, let me know )

If it's working, no problem there then.

Just follow the steps inside the tutorial, re-arrange the folder locations and transfer any file you wish from the SSD to the HDD,
