So as the title says, I plugged the CPU fan into the cha socket for a bit. I had no video output (monitor had no input) and after some research here I read that sometimes you just need to unplug and hold down the power button for a while to discharge capacitors(?).
This worked in that I got a video signal to my monitor finally but it said cpu fan error press f1 to enter setup.
I entered setup and changed the bios settings to my liking and then restarted. Same thing...cpu fan error. This is when I realized what I had done and switched the CPU fan plug to the proper socket.
However now, there is no video once again. Computer acts like it boots (fans spinning, etc) but I can't get any video.
Here's what I've tried:
Unplugging and replugging the CPU connector and the 24 pin connector.
Switching cpu fan back to cha fan.
Reseating ram.
Resetting CMOS.
I have GPUs plugged into the PSU but not into the motherboard, and their fans start up when I press the power button as well.
Did I manage to fry my CPU somehow? Anyone have any ideas on this?
