I had an old laptop (from a junk pile at school) that no longer worked/ didn't boot and decided to reuse its hard drive, however, once I plugged it into my PC in order to reformat it the PC would not boot.
I quickly force shut down the system and unplugged the drive and tried rebooting but it now won't boot and is stuck with the CPU-LED indicator light on.
I tried everything I could think of, unplugging all my drives and SSDs, but nothing worked. What could've gone wrong here? I am worried that I completely bricked my CPU, would love some advice.
I also attempted all the methods that were mentioned here, but to no avail: https://forums.tomshardware.com/thr...-drive-now-computer-wont-boot-at-all.1417210/
Specs:
CPU: i9-12900k
RAM: Corsair Dominator 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 CL16
GPU: N/A (lol I refuse to pay scalper prices)
MOBO: Gigabyte Z690 AORUS ELITE AX DDR4 ATX
SSD: 1TB samsung 980 pro
HDD: 8TB ironwolf pro
PSU: Seagate PX-850W 80+ platinum
corrupted HDD: Hitachi 320GB, Z7K320-320 (from an old Toshiba laptop)
EDIT:
added PSU to specs
