Plugged in new monitor no sound?

Just got my new GAEMS m240 Monitor. everything was fine up too sound. plugging this in has completely killed my sound. Only way I can get sound is out of the monitor itself. MY realtek default audio appears to no longer work even I set it as the default device.

Even worse is that if I try to use the monitor as sound the cables appear to be busted as sound only comes from one ear muffled. The only way to get full sound in my earphones is to partially pull out the cable almost to the point of it coming out completely!

what is the monitor plugged into?

1) You say the REALTEK doesn't work, but when you enable it do you have speakers or headphones actually connected to the motherboard audio?

2) Monitor is HDMI input, so try hooking it to another HDMI device like a BluRay player and see if that works by default. That should get you started troubleshooting.
