Hi,

I was wondering, since my gtx 1070 only has one dvi port and my CPU doesn't have integrated graphics, if it would impact performances to plug my second monitor onto the motherboard dvi slot.

Solution
You would have to enable your onboard graphics (assuming your motherboard bios even allows them to run in parallel).

FYI, HDMI and DVI are completely compatible with each other. You can get HDMI-DVI cables for fairly cheap from amazon or other vendor.

I am pretty sure HDMI is limited to 60hz. My second monitor is currently hooked to my gpu with a display port to dvi converter but still is locked at 60hz. And yes both of my monitors are capable of 144hz.

I am sorry. I didn't mean to be rude. I forgot to say it is a dual link dvi cable and my second monitor is currently plugged into a DisplatPort using a converter, but it is still locked at 60hz
