plugging in Acer 5740-6491 laptop charger causes the circuit breaker to trip

I don't know what is causing the laptop not to charge or to trip the outlet. I'm using an adaptor charger specific for the Acer and have never had an issue with the laptop. I had to replace the original charger because the plug that inserts into the computer was loose and kept on unplugging.

It is from acer or 3rd party brand?

could be a bad charger. short or overcurrent, etc
