Plugging in USB to motherboard feels rough.

When I am plugging USB's into my motherboard it feels rough and like its scraping the USB's why could this be.

Was it a new Mobo? If not you can use canned air to blow away the debris. Also check the port to make sure there is no physical damage.

It sounds like the I/O plate on the chassis is slightly out of alignment. I'd check to see if any of the metal tangs are inside the USB/HDMI/Display ports which would pull the motherboard downward and make the ports go out of alignment. I've also seen cases where certain motherboards were always out of alignment just a bit which would cause this.

On the IO shield there are the metal little prongs Ive pulled them out of the way because I could not get my motherboard to go into the IO shield so I pulled them back.
