Plugging in VGA in the motherboard's connector.

Hello, my new graphics card only supports DVI but my monitor only supports VGA(D-sub) . If i plug my monitor in the default VGA connector, will the graphics card work correctly ?

if its dvi-I ti should it carries analog signal - dvi-d and hdmi is digital only and needs a active converter adaptor

No, you need to connect the vga conector from the monitor to the gpu.

Now, in this case, you can buy a cheap adapter like DVI to VGA adapter.

we need to know what card you got to know if a cheap adaptor as one guy put it will work or if you need to get a ''active'' adaptor like listed in the link I gave above
