Hello,

I know that x1 cards can be plugged into any pci-e sockets but the problem is, will the graphics card get bottlenecked? I have drawn the current config of my motherboard:

it's MSI Z97-G43 and does such a setup limit any bandwidth of my GPU (GTX 960)? There is literally no information about it on the mobo manual or any online information. I had to ask here.

Solution
You can use that slot for the sound card, and your gtx960 will run at x8, but you are fine because there is not big difference in performance between the x16 and x8. Read the review. https://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/Impact-of-PCI-E-Speed-on-Gaming-Performance-518/

Thanks for the reply. Is it guaranteed to work at least at x8? I mean, would two x1 cards bottleneck the GPU to x1?
