I am planning to build a new gaming pc for my self. I am looking for a powerfull system. I need the fastest gaming cpu, ram and motherboard. I am not only going to play games, but do a lot of other things that require a powerful pc. I need good suggestions. I would love to get a good motherboard, with SLI.

I currently have a 2.8 P4 HT, 1 Gig Ram, and an ATI X600 all in wonder. Some of the features no the motherboard are starting to fail, so I think its time for upgrades. Its an HP a747c, but i have added the pci express X600 to it, and some more ram.

Specifications Below.

Are you keeping your gfx card? Is it agp?
If you tell us what you have now, it may be easier to make suggestions.
Also, would you consider Amd, or do you want to stick to Intel?

the question is what do you want to accomplish with this? just to keep about level and get a good new motherboard to keep with the same stuff? or a full blown replacement to a near top of the line?

the 2.8ghz intel (if northwood) is a good processor, if youre going to stay intell.. stick with that CPU, there's no point going to a prescott.it'll cause more headache..

IF YOU plan on reaplacing the motherboard... AND CPU.... dump intel for the timebeing. the current AMD generation is better than the Current Intel's

I just whant more porformance, and no I dont have any viruses, or stupid spyware, I dont use any P2P programs, only BIT TORRENT. I always tweak my computer for the best performance, but sometimes, i need more!

When i run MAYA 6 and Unreal ED, together, they take alot of resources and some times, i just need things to work a bit faster.

I commonly use 3D Studio Max and AutoCAD simultaniously. I just upgraded my computer as well. I kept my existing ATI Radeon All-In-Wonder 9600XT and stuck it in a Asus A8V Deluxe motherboard with a AMD Athlon X2 3800+ and 1GB of RAM (2x512). It is running pretty good for me. I don't know about you but I wanted to keep the graphics card because I just recently purchased it. So the motherboard is AGP. Also I wanted to keep it because it allowed the use of dual monitors for my work. If you are a frequent user of high end software simultaneously then I would go for the dual core processors. I can't predict the future but I hear that the future of them holds high potential for gaming. The console systems are sporting dual core chips as I have heard. If you have any further questions, feel free to email me. Good luck.
