Plz help, serious prob with my monitor(I think)

My monitor has never caused me real problems over the past 4 years I've had it. But lately it has been breaking down. It mainly happens when I try to play Counter-Strike. I can play the game for about 15 minutes but eventually the monitor just dies. It shuts off as if I hit shut down in Windows. The computer light is still on so I assume it's on. Does anyone know what the problem is? Is it time for a new monitor? Is it the video card? Cuz I really don't know, but I have a feeling it's the former rather than the latter. My system specs are:

Biostar M7MIA mobo
1.2 GHz Athlon
256MB DDR RAM
Asus GeForce 2 GTS 32MB DDR
7200rpm 40GB Maxtor hd

There could be some possibility it's overheating or something. Which monitor is it?

My monitor is a piece of crap Gateway thing. Model EV700. I'll call Tech Support tomorrow. Where can I find this power saving tool of Windows on my comp? directory?

if we think basic here, look at pixel resolution the game suggest 600x800? you monitor refresh rate might need to be changed to compesate

actually I've found out that know the monitor shuts off even when I'm not playing games...=(
