Question PM893 7.68 TB unused and data retention

Hi, I had purchased a PM893 7.68 TB SSD from a supplier at a discounted price to install it in a new PC and so as to have a large storage capacity. Now I am going to build the PC but three months have passed since the SSD had been purchased, is there a possibility that it has worn out?

I read that the data retention time is three months but this is not exactly the case since it is still unformatted.

Thanks for the answers.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

If the drive wasn't powered nor accessed, how do you expect it to wind down the wear out counter? Simple answer, if it wasn't in use since your purchase, you're good to go!

No, there is no three month time limit.

Consider any other storage device you buy in the store or online. How long ago did it come off the assembly line?

Plus, you have no data on it...

The only concern I would have is whether the firmware, which also stored in NAND flash, is still intact. But 3 months is not a long time, and in any case the firmware would probably be written to pseudo-SLC or pseudo-MLC NAND, which would have a much longer retention time (I would think).
