PNY 9800 Gt No display, not a dead card tho,is backward pci e compatible PLEASE HELP 5 Months+

PLEASE Help please this is a problem for 5 months and still going, but now I need this to work, I got 1 day to figure out why my PNY 9800 GT ee will not display in the computer I need it too, ok soo my dad is going to trade me this card for a PSU( that I need) but say I MUST get it to work in his computer, ok so I put it in and no display but I do get beep codes 1 long 2 short when plugged in VGA ( bios codes decoder http://www.bioscentral.com/beepcodes/amibeep.htm) when I put the card into a hdmi monitor I get normal beeps and it boots into windows ( I know because I can hit the power button and it shuts off after about 30 secs, that's normal when I do something like that with windows normally, takes time to shut down) when I plug into vga I get the beep pattern and then I restart and I the fans on the 9800 go loud and fast (maybe 5 secs) then like a click (KINDA like a disk drive) and then low and slow for ( 2 secs) then repeat over and over.

CX500 Corsair 500w
Intel Core 2 duo e6400 2.13ghz
2.5gb ddr2 ram
gt 610 ( trying to get the 9800gt to work)
ESC PT890T-A (V1.0) motherboard


Things I tried - Reseating ram and different ram modules
- clear cmos
-tried in 4 computers ( read below)


ok so I did try it in 4 computers. ALL HAVE THE SAME 500W CORSAIR PSU.

Passsed builds

Fx-6300
8gigs of ram ddr3
ASUS mobo

A10-5800k
8gigs of ram ddr3
Asrock Fm2a75pro4 mobo


Not passed builds

intel core 2 duo e6400
2.5gb ddr2 ram
ESC PT890T-A (V1.0)

idk mobo but it does got pci e x16

Are you plugging in the 6 pin PCI-e power connect into the 9800GT ?

it doesn't have one it is the EE version so its downclocked, thus it doesn't have one, what else

Bios update. The board has revision 1.1 PCI-E slot.

I saw that and the card is a pci e 2.0, and it did seem to be unusal that it worked on the newer mobos with new gen pci e slots.but I have a gt 610 in there and it is a pci e 2.1 and it works no problem. When I try to do a bios update it tell me incorrect rom id

If that will help you out, it is same mobo just a gts8800 I think, he has the bios error too.
