PNY Quadro P4000 Slow in edit offset entities

Hello,

Is it normal for a (Quadro P4000) GPU of that caliber to hang for 20 seconds while editing simple offset entities on faces of extruder 10 letters, just a simple test I do to compare to my previous card GTX970. They both perform super slow in editing offset entities sketches, Trying to edit nodes or adding lines is extremely slow and unworkable. I just find it hard to believe it performs this way being a $1300 workstation card.

Using Solidworks2018. I purchase the P4000 expecting much better performance than the GTX970.
I have the certified recommended Quadro driver 377.11 installed, Win10, 16g mem, SSD, i7 3930K, Rampage Extreme IV mother board, latest updates on everything.

The cards performs well in everything else. I can load a 1000 part assembly with no issues but yet it hangs one a simple task like edit offset entities.

Comments are appreciated.

Interesting, the P4000 is a very respectable card for workstation needs such as Solidworks or CAD, I find it hard to believe it's hanging up on such a small task. I would have to say this is a scenario that doesn't have to do with the GPU, I don't think its a Ram limitation either, it's possible your PCI-E slot is bad or some pins are burnt out try running the P4000 in one of the other slots and see if it helps.

Thank you for the reply, I used the same slot the gtx970 was in ( pcei x16) but I'm going to try your recommendation right now. I've been 3 days at this trying different drivers/reinstalling SW18, playing with settings etc.. I'm in disbelief this that this could be actually a normal thing.

I just tried all the different slot (x16 and x8/x16) and the system won't boot unless it's in the top one only (x16).

This is definitely a problem that is pertained to your system, and it would be hard to know the problem without being hands on with your system. Are you using any adapter's to power the CPU or GPU? If not, I think it may be an issue with your motherboard.
