I just purchased some new pny 16gb 2x8 pc3-12800 ram. I put it in my laptop and the laptop started and gave me the option for ubuntu or windows 8. I choose windows 8 and the laptop then says "Acer explore beyond limits" for about 30 seconds then displays the spinning dot circle. This is where my pc usually starts whith the old ram, but with the new ram, it will just stay like that for hours until I shut it down. The old ram still works. I was thinking drivers? Not sure where to find them. Also found on Acer's forum that the laptop's max ram is 16 gb, two 8's in each slot.

The specs I'm seeing on reviews for that model only show an 8gb max, so maybe the forums were wrong? Or they did an upgrade on the model at some point?
