I have an 8gb PNY 2.0 USB that was working fine until a few hours ago. Was able to boot from it kali linux win 7 8 10. But now it no longer shows up on either laptops bios. The weird thing is if i boot from bios I decided to randomly click diskette drive and boom USB will boot. However the USB will not function properly. It will fail all installs and cant even run Live. I know it is the USB and not the ISO or burning because i used a 128gb USB and it functions just fine. In windows Device Manager both USB show up as Disk Drives with proper names and sizes.
Yes I have Legacy boot enabled. I also tried UEFI with Legacy Rom enabled. Is the drive dying?
I ran scans for bad sectors, health etc and all was good.
It works fine for just data transfer but i need to be able to boot! What can I do to fix. I already checked PNY support for firmware upgrade and nothing.
Any help or advise is appreciated. More wanting to learn whats wrong than anything else(so i dont repeat with a new drive)

Sorry for late response. The flash drive was working fine before. Its a pny usb 2.0 i was wondering if it started dying. I have a silicon 128gb usb that works fine. It seems something is wrong with the flash drive. It will boot when i click diskette or second HDD but theres no option to boot it as a USB like the other flash drive
