[SOLVED] POE security cameras

hi all, I want to get security cameras for my home and want to use poe for them and plug them all into my switch. do both the cameras and switch have to be poe or just the cameras?

Both, unless you use an inline power injector.

There are two standards, 802.3af (regular PoE) and 802.3at (PoE+, higher power) as well as some non-standard hacks. Most cameras will be 803.2af, but PTZ cameras or cameras with high-power IR illuminators may be 802.3at. A 802.3at switch will support both.
