Poison dmg sm charm

I recently got a small charm from Baal and since it wasn't worth keeping (+3
to strength) I decided to reroll it. Presently it is a "Pestilent small
charm of Pestilence", has a lvl requirement of 80 and does +377 poison
damage in 11 seconds. First question is, Does it get any better, i.e..more
damage or shorter time? Second, I'm not big into poison damage (takes to
long), is it worth trying to trade and for what? Third, if I continue
rerolling what is the best I could expect?

Best I've gotten is a 100PD over 5 seconds, so yours is pretty good. That
amt of poison should keep monsters from regenerating health at least, while
you're beating on them.

That is one of the better poison charms out there, and you could probably
trade it for any kind of small charm you want. Price might be depending of
NL/L and HC/SC though.

That's about the best poison damage you can get on a small charm. Don't
know its trade value, but I sure as hell wouldn't re-roll it! Leave it be
and try to trade it.

Also, how did you get +3 Strength on a snamm charm? That should be
impossible.

Just lookin at the info at Blizzard, this is what I found...
Small charm prefix:
Pestilent +175 Poison Damage Over 6 Seconds Small Charms(88)

Pestilence is +25 Poison Damage Over 5 Seconds Small Charms(32)

The highest sc suffix for poison is:
Anthrax +50 Poison Damage Over 6 Seconds Small Charms(44)

So how'd you get this

I put the small charm into the cube with 3 perfect gems and hit transmute,
rinse and repeat probably about 50 times. I would be more than happy to
show it to you. US West, SC *gilsmules

That's gotta be the best one i've seen. I've had one that done +247 over 5
secs but never seen anything above that. The longer the poison lasts the
better. Yours rocks.

247/5 is 49.4/sec
377/11 is 34.2/sec

which would you say is really better? (despite what the trade value
suggests)

I certainly wouldn't reroll it. Small charms for rerolling are not
hard to come by but a 377 SPDC is.

Yes, and I assume you'll be hitting whatever you're hitting more than
once every 5 seconds, so the 247/5 will be doing around 50% more
damage.

In any case, both charms are very rare items and I would either keep
them or look for something of high value in trade.

YOu know, I always skipped that Cube recipe 'cause I thought it was for
magic items like armor or weapons, I never read it...
now that I have 14 P gems, i just need a sc hi enough...

IIRC, the 3 pgem recipe adds the ilvl of the item and your clvl and then
divides by two for the new items ilvl.
If I am wrong, I am sure it will be pointed out here, but I know for a fact
that it is NOT an automatic lowering to 60%.

I found one the other night with 330+ over 10 seconds while playing my
lvl 87 Assassin. Works very nice against Diablo when you also have no
monster heal. Just wait awhile and he'll flop over ...dead...

The 3 pgems recipe does NOT do ANYTHING to the ilvl of the item being
rerolled. See indeed also the other response..

So it's perfectly safe to use the 3 pgems recipe on a low-level mule, but
keep in mind this may not be the matter for other recipes...

Just how long does it take to kill D with a 330 pt poison charm?

My rabies wolf does 7000 poison damage and was taking too long to kill kill
hell lvl carvers for my tastes. I could infect and then run around they
would drop over dead eventually, but outside hell act 1 I don't see the
poison doing much.

I'm hitting him with the blades (400+ per hit) so each hit (I assume)
also counts for 330 damage over 10 seconds. I think it took about 20
mins. the last time I played that level. I went back to town to get
more potions and when I came back, he was dead. So far though I seem
to get better drops with other characters and the run on the forge. Of
late, I've been getting a lot of uniques but they are less than what I
normally use or are intended for characters other than the Assassin.
