Why would I possibly want 8gb RAM for a PC that has to last years? Thats moronic if you ask me.

There are plenty of games who list 4gb RAM as a minimum now.

So yeah, thats what plenty of people said a few years ago about about 2gb ram or 4gb ram.

You dont need 16gb of ram nor do you need an i7. AMD next year might be realeasing some very good APU processors that could run gaming better than current CPUs

You can max pretty much any current game with 4gb RAM easily.

Or you could actually read and realise that whats actually being said is that particular STATEMENT SEEMS moronic to ME. Thats a world of difference.

You need to take a chill pill. 2 of us have told you not to get 16gb

But that'd drop you to 8gb seeing as practically no CPUs support triple channel for 12gb. And 8gb is plenty for now, I know. But game reqs are gonna rise eventually and this thing has to last at LEAST 5 years.

Also, don't get the i7. Get an i5. Identical performance. The CPUs will be showing their age before hyper threading makes a bit of difference in gaming.

that motherboard is also WAY too cheap and bottom-end for a build of this caliber. You REALLY want an h87 board.

I'm sorry, it will not last 5 years. Even an i7 4820k and SLI titans will barely last 5 years. Possibly wouldn't even last 5 years. Technology is changing so fast that there is no way. Being "futureproof" does not exist anymore.

In 1-2 years we will have ddr4 RAM which will render your 16gb RAM pointless, for example.

What difference would a mobo make, performance wise in gaming?
