I recently got some new Samsung ssd, one is 840 evo which is boot ssd and other is 850 pro. I also have Western Digital green 2tb drive for storage. I get a boot time since the new ssd of 33 seconds and recently watching jays two cents youtube video, he stated with similar config and he stated that gets boot speed of 8-10 seconds. Of course dont expect same results, having different parts.

My question is what to look for in bios to increase. Fast boot says enabled and changed to boot ssd check performed. But aren't sure what else to look for. I put this system together myself, so I will take any suggestions to look for. If didnt connect ssd in correct sata port for example. It seems to hang on the Asus logo screen with white dotted circle turning for too long.

Of course logitech g19 keyboard, corsair m65 rgb

Thanks, Steve

depending on your bios you might have an option in the bios to disable your splash screen (asus bios screen).this will make it a few seconds faster.also look for programs set to start with windows that dont need too.this will also slow down boot times.
on the asus bios under boot. change the wait for error time from 30 sec to 3 sec. with that short speed you need to use the asus boot to bios tool for windows. use msconfig check off noi gui boot and set time out from 30 sec to 3. that should speed up windows.

I will try those both. I would like to ask either one of you. When got the Samsung Evo ssd, I had windows 8.1 installed on WD green drive. I then just installed to the samsung evo. I have read that should disconnect the WD green drive first, that some windows files get written to both drives. Can either one of you confirm this for me. Should I reinstall windows disconnecting the wd hdd. So it only installs to the samsung ssd.

So using disk management, will i run into issues if formatted the WD hdd. I had call of duty advanced warfare wanted to finish. Again, so just installed fresh to 840 evo. Since was brand new drive, I didn't format the hdd at all or unplug it. I havent done up to this point, not knowing for sure if did contain some windows files. As most users, just have for place to put files and keep both ssds fairly free for fast access programs. It isnt deal breaker if had to reformat or lose files though. Only about 3 months old since x99 built.
