Poor performance on games

Hello my PC is not running games well when I believe it should be for example I'll try running Arma 3 and I will only get 25 fps on the lowest settings or on rust I will get around 30-40 fps on the lowest settings. if someone could help me figure out the problem that would help a ton. PC specs below
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 quad core 3.4ghz
GPU: Nividia GeForce GTX 960 3 GB
RAM: 14 GB
Windows 10

First of all have you checked the temperatures of the components, I suggest some simple software like SpeedFan, maybe some fan is dead or you need to replace thermal paste on your CPU. If you are having stable temperatures that are not over 75-85C then I would ask, is this happenening from some point or is this a thing since you bought/made the computer.

The computer is around a year old I've only had it for 4 months bought it from my friend. I'll check the temps when I get home. I've never played games like arma before but it's always happened on rust and on ark. But on league of legends it has no fps problems at all or on fable I don't know if that's because they aren't as demanding or what.

I do have to say that your CPU is not top notch, its mid-range, so I hope you arent playing on Ultra, just that, since Arma III is really CPU hungry for calculating all the stuff in game.

I always try for mid settings on all games I had arma 3 on the lowest settings possible and I was stuck around 25 fps still.

The temp is around 70C while in game and CPU usage around 70 also.

the 1st thing catching my eye is 14gb ram.
do you have 1x 8gb , 1x 4gb and 1x 2gb? or how did you get that number?

the pc specs seam fine on the 1st look.
it could be that the ram is the problem if the lowest module is trotting the others.

that is how it is should I take out the others and just use the 8?

RAM usage is around 6gb when I'm in game.
