Hi all,

I am considering upgrading after not knowing what to do to improve performance.
specs:
- i5 8400
-1080ti
-16GB 2666MHz ram
  • 650w Thermaltake
  • Z370 MSI tomahawk
  • 2x evo SSD
I have been using this system with an 980ti untill last month i bought a 1080ti. In several games i dont have the performace compared to other similar setups. Changing power plan doesnt change much. I am considering buying a 9700k for this MOBO (yes i already flashed it), but i doubt it will improve performance cuz maybe the the mobo is the problem. Also a fresh install of windows has not any effect.. I have absolutely no clue..

Anyone an advice?

Thanks in advance.

Mobo cant affect fps, especially a good one like you have.
A upgrade to 9700K would be a good move, especially if you overclock it.
1080Ti doesnt need to be replaced.

This guy used a 2070 Super which has similar performance to your 1080ti.

Thanks, yes it might be a good upgrade indeed, but wonder why a few friends of mine have better performance running 4790k's and a 2070S's...
