Pop sound and shutdown...

OK I was playing a game and my PC popped and shutdown, I unplugged immediately and tore apart my rig looking for popped capacitors and such. I found nothing burnt or popped, and nothing noticeable inside the PSU when I looked with a flashlight. There was no smell of ozone or anything when it happened. I put everything back together and it boots/runs fine so far and voltages are reading within limits. I'm a bit stumped. Any help or opinion would be welcomed. Thanks in advance.

I think I would still be slightly wary of the power supply. Did you check your video card to see if a capacitor popped there?

Yea sounds like your PSU could be failing... What are your system specs?

Especially if it is a cheap or off-brand PSU, I would look into replacing that immediately.

You don't post ANY specs, but I'd be wary of the PSU. At the very least, make sure you have good airflow through your case, e.g. front to back, not just a bunch of random fans. Please post your specs, including brand and model, not just wattage, of your PSU, in order to get the most useful suggestions.

Sorry for not posting specs, it was late and I was tired at time of posting. Specs are as follows-

I think I would still be slightly wary of the power supply. Did you check your video card to see if a capacitor popped there?

I did check the GPUs, to the best of my ability, can't seem to figure out how to take off the casing, but checked traces and looked into the end with a flashlight. Didn't see anything noticeable.

Hmmm, that unit was made by ATNG...not great, but not too bad, especially since you probably weren't pulling 300W out of it. Also, a pop from a PSU usually means a dead unit. I'm puzzled as to what could have made that sound, caused a shutdown, but let you power back up again. Are all your drives accessible? Fans all running? LEDs all working? Something died, and it would be really nice to know just what it was. Could it have been a power glitch that caused the PSU to shut off? How are air temperatures where your PSU exhausts? Can you hear the PSU fan, and does it really ramp up when you play games?
Find any dead bugs in there, with severe burn marks?

All drives are accessible, I also took out my HDD and checked for any discolored traces there. My fans are all running, the only led that doesn't wanna work is "THOR" label on my chassis front panel, but that wasn't working prior to this. System temps don't usually go over 50c loaded. PSU fan usually will build up speed while gaming, but haven't really stressed anything since the issue. And bugs could be a possibility but I didn't notice anything.

Did you come to any conclusions with this? The exact same thing just happened with my computer, and I have a XFX 550W power supply and a very low wattage system.
