Hey,

I've recently bought a new motherboard and I'm getting a weird popping sound coming through on my speakers when I play audio. It doesn't happen all the time but when it does happen its very frustrating to listen to music or game.

Spec:
MB:
MSI Z390-A PRO
CPU: i9-9900K (Overclocked to 5GHz)
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1080ti Gaming OC 11GB
PSU: Corsair RM750
RAM: Corsair 32GB 3200MHz (XMP Overclocked)

Few things I've already ruled out:
  • I've tried several speakers and have been able to hear the popping sound on all of them so its not a problem with the speakers
  • I've read it may be related to the PSU, but seems a bit odd considering this PSU is from my old build and I didn't have this issue with my old motherboard
  • Tried installing the audio driver provided by MSI
  • Tried the front audio jack and the issue is still there
  • Tweaked audio settings in windows (i.e. turned off enhancements + tried different audio qualities)
I've recorded some of the popping/crackling sounds and uploaded it here. The song I'm playing in the clip is skyrim atmospheres. It sounds like there is quite a bit of static, but I recorded it on my phone. You'll hear about 3 popping sounds during the clip.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?
Should I just RMA the motherboard?

Thanks!
