Please help me out I have asked everyone on the web this
How do i find a free port number to use in port forwarding

I would like to forward a port number to 3 different devices

port number XXXX 192.168.1.10
port number XXXX 192.168.1.11 and so on
But where do I get a working open available port number from?

My router has no detail and assumes you have a working port number to insert (I think)

Router is a DLINK DSL-2640R

Is the port number subject to your ISP or are there certain ports always free and useable from every ISP
I use port forwarding a lot but normally the third party manufacturer will inform me of the port number I am attempting to port forward to an alarm control panel and also a telephone system and other devices, If anyone has a straight answer it would be great.

Many thanks Roy CSNI

The port coming into the Router will be determined by the protocol that you are using.

ie: RDP - 3389

HTTP: 80

etc:

The port on your PC can then either be the same or different as long as it is free and open in your firewall and the program that you want to connect to understands it.

I hope this helps.
