Hello,

was hoping someone could tell me what im doing wrong here...

I have forwarded my ports 28015 & 28016 on TCP & UDP on my router this is attached to my local IP address as a static IP

I have added this rule into my firewall aswell making 2 rules one for TCP and one for UDP

i have eset antivirus running but i cannot change any firewall rules here.

I have checked if my ports are open but they are closed and i cannot connect through the games im running either.

I can connect locally to the server im running but i cannot connect externally so other can join.

I connect thorough my external IP address using the port at the end and i cannot connect i dont understand why the port will not open i have tried this with others but still no luck

It was like a year and half ago, but I helped my son setup a dedicated steam servers. Two things I seem to recall ... the port checking sites did not give accurate replies ... as well as the game server, you had to setup a remote connection (RCON) and 27015 was the default port for that. You may need to read/ask on the steam forums for specific information about that.

In addition, I was reading about the Sky Q hub (I assume that is what you have). Port forwarding requires a 2 step process. Setting up the service and then enabling that service in the firewall. It sounds like that is what you did, but just in case:

ESET NOD32 does not have a firewall. ESET smart security and internet security (use to be called security suite) does.

Windows firewall ... just disable while you're testing.

Do you just have a router or do you have a router and a modem (a box from your ISP)? If you have 2 boxes, you might have to port forward both.

Connecting locally is good. That means your server is running properly. Be aware that your server might not respond to requests from port checking websites. It's better to have someone outside your network try to connect to your server using the appropriate app (game).

How do you connect to the internet? Connections via phone networks (4G) tend not to work because the phone companies block them. Networks provided by apartments/dorms/etc may be also firewalled (ie ... your screwed).

Some routers have pretty good logging (some don't). When a friend tries to connect to you, do you see an entry in the router log?

Hey man thanks

I just have the router for my network with sky broadband no modem.

I connect on my home computer all set up for a steam game running with a dedicated server.

I disabled firewall still same issue.

I can check with another person as soon as there online to test. I have the server running at all times i try and connect via an external address rather than a local and i cannot connect i though this might be a way i could test the port?

I ran netsh -a -b -n command and i sore the port on 0.0.0.0:28051 with nothing next to it dose this help?
