I'm trying to port forward for rocket league and it needs the ports 80 and 443 forwarded. I have forwarded the ports to the correct IP address and when I join a game (where I presume they are being listened for) they say that they are closed when I check using https://portchecker.co/. ISP: Charter Spectrum, Router Model I think: R6300v2. Idk what other information I need to provide. I've searched for a little bit and have found that they could be blocked from my ISP? Thanks for the answers.

It appears you have been reading post written by idiots who have no idea what they are talking about.

You only need to port forward when YOU are hosting the server. The servers for rocket league are all run by the company in data centers.

If you where to run the portchecker on the server at the game company the ports would likely correctly show as open.

In many ways it is a good thing if your ISP blocks port 80 and 443. Too many people put in portforward rules in their router with no understanding of what it is doing. When you do this you run the risk of internal machine being compromised by hackers on the internet.
Generally if you have the skills to setup and run a server you also have the skills to get port forwarding rules correct.

The only types of games that really need port forwarding would be say someone running a minecraft server for their friends or on some console games where there is not central server and one of end consoles is acting as the server.
