portable anti virus/spyware

I am looking for a good anti-virus and anti-spyware that can be used from a portable storage device. My friend has tons of infections that are preventing the installation of any removal tools and the online scanners. I would rather not connect it to my home network to scan to try and avoid infecting any of my pc's. I have found a few anti-virus programs on download.com but i have never heard of any of those makers.

well i think avast has a portable edition but doubt it's free. just google it and see
