Portable Drive and USB 3.0 not working

Hello,

I recently built my own computer which has 4 USB 3.0 ports in the back. I just plugged in my year and a half old WD 1TB My Passport (which has USB 3.0) into one of these ports. The computer says it would read faster if I plugged it into a 3.0 port, even though I definitely have. I haven't had this issue before, and the copying speeds are the same whether I plug it into a 2.0 or a 3.0. About a month ago I did the same thing with the 3.0 and they worked at 3.0 speeds. I most definitely have the USB 3.0 drivers installed. Any suggestions?

Alright so some developments:

I plugged in the drive in 3.0 again and this time it did not even show up in Computer. I tried it on some friends' 3.0 ports and same issue. Then later I tried it again in a 3.0 port on my computer and it showed up but still as 2.0 speeds. I tried a friend's passport on my computer and got very solid 3.0 speeds from that. What should I do? Call Western Digital??
