Hi,
I want to buy an portable 1TB external hard disk drive. I live in North India and m confused between three brands namely: Buffalo, Western Digital & Toshiba. I want to know which is reliable n better of these and warranty support center available. There's some price difference between all three and i have read their reviews on various sites and got a confusing answer, some say it's good and some had faced lot of problems.
So i want to know which is best, if someone owned any can share their experiences.
Thanks in advance.

I have a Western Digital "My Passport" 1TB portable hard drive and it has been (and still is) very reliable after 18-months use.

I bought a Toshiba "Store-E" before that and it failed within 6 months, as did a Seagate "Elements" portable drive. I have never owned a Buffalo drive so can't comment on that brand.

My recommendation is that you buy a Western Digital external drive -- at the moment it's the brand I trust the most.

Buffalo is cheap but is very reliable compared to Dell or toshiba but Western Digital rules the world of external hard drive.

So the conclusion is if you are looking to spend lesser
Buffalo ministation is a nice option :bounce:

And if you can spend Rs 600/- extra
WD My passport is a better option that i own myself :bounce:

Did you buy from flipkart? If yes, what size? What all accessories did the pack contain?

YES! I did buy from flipkart.
They did an excellent job delivering my WD external HD safely and well packed.
It had a USB 3.0 compatible cord, user manual and a warranty card.
The USB cable is little small but can be managed
