Portable HDD Doesn't complete write processes

Hello Guys,

I hope this message finds you well. I've been having a problem lately with my front USB ports. When I connect my 2TB Samsung G3 Station and try copying a file. The file copy stops progressing after a while even though my activity LED is showing that the copy is still in progress. When the LED stops blinking (indicating that the copy has finished), the change isn't reflected in Windows and the copy process isn't changed at all. If I disconnect and reconnect the HDD. The files are copied perfectly except for the small files in the Kilobyte range. I tried connecting the drive to one of the rear USB ports and everything is fine. The drive is also working flawlessly on my Windows Vista laptop.

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P
Ram: 2x2 GB Kingston DDR3 1333MHz
Case: CM Storm Sniper

sounds like your USB controller is not working

try a update or roll back

How would I identify the USB controller that's responsible for the front panel ports?

I tried updating the driver but there are no newer drivers. Also, I couldn't rollback the driver as the option is grayed out
