Hello,

Western Digital Elements Portable HDD - - - Mfr. Part No.:WDBU6Y0020BBK

Thinking my portable HDD was a power bank, my father accidentally connected it to a 2 amps mobile charger. After that, PC detects it (like eject option appears & small tone coming when connected ) but it's not showing on my computer. Please help me . Is there any way to fix it by me in my home or I have to take it to service center ?

I don't want to go service center because it's out of warranty.

most likely not repairable by yourself
the hdd can´t be used as internal drive, even if you open it up.
To retrieve the data you would need to replace the circuit board with a new one and exchange the BIOS chip from the old one to the new one
