It's a bit over your preferred budget but:
-Overclockable.
-Shouldn't be too loud.
-Motherboard has built-in wifi.
-ITX solution for portability.
-GTX 760 can play any game on high-max settings.
-16gb of ram for rendering and such.

And it is pretty hard to find a fast computer for your price that is very silent, if you can stand a bit of noise then you can get a great computer :) Also Sapphire's Vapor-X stays cool and quiet so you can check it out. Also if you want quietness then OCing is not a great choice.
 
@OP: Microcenter can ship GPUs. But anyways, I posted a better GPU that is quieter above, so you don't have to order off Microcenter.
@CAaronD: He won't be able to find a good laptop under $1,000 that can do what he want relatively well.
