Hello to everybody! My name is Chris, and I'm new here, but not new to PC's, gadgets and tech world. :)

I've recently won an Sapido BRB72n portable router at a quiz and I had it delivered today. I've started testing it, and I've saw that there is an incompatibility betweem the router and my 3G dongle (ZTE), and a newer firmware will solve my problem.

Charged for 3 hours and plugged to the computer (using LAN cable), and started flashing the new firmware. Once it's 100% done, the router restarted and the browser showed the message with "cannot connect.. blah, blah". I've waited another 15 minutes, and then unplug and turn off the router for 1 minute, and when it turned on the router, the only LED that shows up is the green power-on LED, and the LAN/WAN LED when it's connected by cable (but it's solid green).

I guess the router is dead? Is there any rescue/recovery mode like ASUS routers have?

Thank you guys!
Every message/oppinion is wellcomed. :)

I've send it back to the manufacturer...

After a few chats and messages I've convinced them that the product was DOA, and they agree to replace it.

I'll come back with feedback when I'll have it back. They told me that they will upgrade the firmware on the new router aswell, so I don't have to deal with it.
That is the first thing that I've done to the router, in any possible way...

- Reset -> Power on -> Power off (while still holding the reset)
- Power on + reset (30 seconds)
- Power on then power off (with reset)
- Reset and plug in DC + power on
and so on...

Nothing worked... 🙁

This is the router after 5 minutes. It doesn't do anything apart from this (the Wi-Fi LED should be on and flashing)... 🙁

Sapido support is rubbish, they didn't even respond, and this router has been won at a quiz, so it doesn't have a warranty (it has been writen clear)... Any other way to revive it? Experts? 🙁

Anyone? 🙁

Am I the only Sapido user around here? I read somewhere that Sapido routers have an emergency mode on the 192.168.1.6 IP, but I don't know how can I push the .BIN file on that adress. 🙁
