wooooooooooooow... is not that they are giving away an average game... portal has to be the most unique FPS shooter in the history...
 
Why say "Portal is FREE on Steam for Mac, PC Until May 24" Why not just say. Portal is free on steam? Putting Mac first like that implies that Valve is giving special promotion to apple users.

Except for all of us Mac users who use a case sensitive file system in which Steam wont install.

Thanks for saying this, because I thought it was only Mac users! But now, I have my copy of Portal on its way 😉
 
Free portal is cool. Yeah. Free porn is better though. One up that one.
 
Done and Done. I've always wanted to get Portal, and was recently considering getting the game for money.

I love promotions like this! This is real marketing, right here. Once a game nears the end of commercial viability, it becomes a great incentive like this. Bravo Valve!

Well, technically speaking, there are some strings attached. Fortunately, they're entirely decorative. We just like the way they look, swaying in the gentle breeze created by a million people simultanously fainting from shock at the news that Portal is free. Now you have no reason not to try Portal.

Well guess what: For the first time ever, Portal is also available for the Mac.

You'd think that, especially since it actually won over 70 Game of the Year Awards. But, like we keep saying, Portal is free. Free on the Mac. Free on the PC. But only until May 24th. So you only have a few days to decide if your free copy of Portal is worth the price we're currently charging - which is you ever-so-slightly moving your index finger just barely enough to click the big red "download" button right there to the left.[/citation]

Steam is awesome =D Been using it since the day it came out, been playing CS since 2001, and man did it suck updating that game. With Steam it fixed everything =D And with the lineup of games on steam i almost never have to leave my house for a game. Hope they keep doing things like this, and adding new old games to there list. I want them to make this game 5 bucks again, then i will for sure buy it =D
