I finally bit the bullet and ported my number to Verizon yesterday.
I was surprised because after the sale and paperwork was done, as I was
walking onto my car in the parking lot, I got a text message welcoming me to
Verizon. My number was switched in less than one hour! I was expecting to
carry two phones for a while but not anymore.
I had very poor signal in my house with Sprint. I used to walk out a block
from my house if I use my cell phone to call long distance (I don't use land
line for long distance anymore). My new Verizon phone has a very good
signal/voice quality in my house. I can move around with no problem.
Anyway, I just want to share my "porting" experience.
Note: I made sure that the name/address I gave to Verizon is exactly the
same as the name/address on my Sprint account, dots and dashes must match.
