Possibility to get 240hz on an external 240hz monitor through HDMI 2.0b ?

I'm thinking about getting a Asus Rog Scar III G531 but I wanna be able to plug an external 240hz monitor in to it and get 240hz. Will this be possible?

According to the specs, it has "HDMI 2.0b" and "DisplayPort over USB-C".

Not likely, best place to check would be ASUS support since they should know what your model can do. HDMI 2b should be able to handle 1080 at 144 or 120, not sure about 240.

HDMI 2.0 can handle 1080p@240Hz. You'll just need to make sure the monitor does when you are selecting one. However you can also just use a usb c to displayport cable if the monitor only supports that resolution using displayport.
