I was surprised to see that THG hardly did any april fool's jokes... There's always the usual "Intel buys AMD" or "AMD teams up with IBM and destroys Intel" crap, but there was very little this year.
Any ideas for good jokes? Maybe a review of Intel's trump card played: A new ultra-chipset that supports prescott and that, if used in conjunction with it, enables 64-bit processing, accompanied by a 3.6 and 3.8Ghz Prescott to go with it. Something like:
*Premature launch: LGA775 enables 64-bit in P4s!!!
*128-bit, 800Mhz or 1066Mhz FSB now enables 12.8GB/s transfer rates with quad-channel DDR1-400 (800Mhz FSB) or 17GB/s transfer rates with quad-channel DDR2-533 (1066Mhz).
*Full PCI-Express support and SATA drives
This motherboard could be fully reviewed, and a 3.8Ghz could be made to look as if it'd be +50% or more faster, just as a joke. (a 128-bit memory system would be great for Intel now, wouldn't it? Like in Itanium... For P4s.)
Or something like: "transistor bloat in prescott: how pinky and the brain managed to get their own world domination firmware into Intel's fabs and are now on the verge of never having to do the same old thing tomorrow night" or something.
