I'm planning on building a gaming computer for the first time. There are a couple of things I'm curious about... with the stock CPU fan be good enough, are any of these parts unreliable, is there any way to make it cheaper, is there anything on here that i don't need. I am planning on adding another graphics card so i need to keep a descent power wattage. last November the price got close to 1k, will it get close to that any time soon? Here it is...

Solution
Couple of suggestions:
  • ■Unless you're OCing, the stock cooler is fine. If you are OCing, you'll want an i5-4670K.
■Don't bother with thermal paste; both stock and aftermarket coolers come with it, and the benefits are incredibly marginal.
■I'd get a PCIe WiFi card e.g. this - that one also has 5GHz support.
    Cheaper, modular PSU

Predicting prices is hard, but I don't see how it could have gotten close to $1k. It's been fairly constant over the last 3 months.

You can also get a cheaper case, if you want to save cash.
