Possible CPU bottleneck?

Hey guys, my CPU is Pentium 4 3.00 GHz and I was wondering if I got a new video card like the Radeon HD 4670, would I be able to play games like Left 4 Dead at high settings with good framerates? Would my CPU bottleneck my GPU too much?

Yes your cpu will be the slower part of your system, can you overclock your P4, ive got a 3.o stable at 3.7ghz and it makes a difference, saying that, 4670 is pci so what chipset is your p4 mobo, can you upgrade to dual core?

Sadly yes your CPU will hold you back. What are the rest of your system specs? Not sure that GPU will be able to play L4D with very high settings even if CPU was not the problem.
