Hello.Recently my pc started shutting down for no apparent reason. It became more often and to the point i couldnt use it anymore. I reinstalled windows and it worked for a couple of days and then again the random shutdowns. In the event viewer it only says kernel power 41 critical but there are hundreds of so called "solutions" and ive tried alot and none worked. I sent my pc to a tech market and they tested it,cleaned it and said it should work fine and there are no hardware issues. It worked for a week and today it started shutting down again. The dude from the tech market told me it might be the temperatures in the pc bcz i havent changed the termal paste for about 2 years. So i installed PC wizard and some stressing software and seen that at idle,in the OS doing nothing my cpu core is at about 44degrees celsius and when i stress it to 100% it goes to about 64.5 degrees. The CPUTIN is then 69.5. Is this too high? Should the idle temp be lower than 44? Should i buy some thermal paste?

Max temp on that chip is around 72 deg C. I believe. While Donkey is right the TDP on the chip and board are fine together, however your PSU is a cheap piece of junk, there is a good chance its not providing enough power. This will cause the system to fail and reboot. It could also cause heat issues from undervolting the processor.

Thermal paste does not go bad. If it worked fine before and now it doesn't its something else.

But how did the PSU work great for these 2 years,i mean i played lots of games and everything was fine? I know its shit i was foolish to buy the cheapest i could fine that could provide enough power

So thermal margin is the difference between the max temp of the CPU (72 deg C) and its current temp. 60 would be like when you first start it, 47 sounds about normal after warm up and a little load. It shouldn't necessarily bounce around too much.

Like I said, probably the PSU giving bad power especially if you see bouncing temps, that could be an indication of a power issue.

PSU's wear over time, junk PSU's wear faster. Its not a surprise it worked for a little while, to be expected, just won't last. I wouldn't keep using it, all youre doing is increasing chances of system damage.

This is a classic cheap worn PSU problem.

How can i be sure? I cant just go and buy a new PSU and that it turns out to not have been the problem,im very low on budget here,is there a program that tests the psu or something? The guys that tested my pc are obviously jerks who didnt completely test it(it was free bcz my warrant on the motherboard is still legit)

There is no way to really test it for sure. WHat you could do is buy the PSU from a place like Amazon that has a liberal return policy. If it doesn't fix it, return it.

That said I'm completely sure thats your problem.

Thank you,i will figure something out or buy a good, used psu

That would have been helpful to know from the start.

Do you have a frend that can loan you a PSU to test with?
