Randomly this morning when I woke up, my computer wasn’t turning on. Of course, first I thought it was my PSU because there was a problem with my PSU in which when I move the connector cable farther to the left, I hear static then I can turn my PC on. Now, today, I’m moving it to the left and it’s just not turning on at all. I am hearing static when I budge with the connector cable, but it just isn’t turning on. Anyone have any clue as to what’s going on?

Solution
which connector cable are u referring to when u bulge it to the left ... btw a static sound is never good... from what I understand the plug socket may have had a dodgy ground so it may have been building up static electricity so it may mean a dead power supply ... try a different socket... if not remove the powersupply from the pc and do the paperclip trick to turn on the powersupply without components on

Solution
I mean the plug socket cable, I move it to the left and I hear a small static noise, then when I turn the PC on it works. I don’t know what the paper clip trick is and I’m scared to try anything that could damage stuff because that is my only PSU

Different power strip socket? No I haven’t done that. There is also a bare outlet socket from the wall but I don’t want to plug it in with no protection, and the power strip sockets are better
