Layed out below is all the components and parts i will be using for 2x systems that I'm going to and am building, one for me, and one for my girlfriend. So far everything is going smoothly i am going part by part only because I'm poor :)
So tell me your thoughts, will this system run most games at 1080P? And what settings do you think it'll run at? I've been carefully running over this build trying to get everything correct that i want in it and this is what i've come up with. Both builds might be crossfired but im not sure yet. 1 will use 3 monitors (for me with eyefinity) and the other will either use 3 or 1 depending on how demanding my girlfriend is going to be lol.
Please, give me your thoughts! :)

Yes, this rig should be able to run games at 1080p on high settings. I would not crossfire 270x, you should then go for a gtx 970 which would perform better. In eyefinity, 270x's 2 gb with limit your settings from being any higher than medium on average. All other problems of crossfire will persist (micro stuttering, compatibility, heat, and power consumption). Also, you don't need 16 gb of ram for any game. 8 gb will be more than enough.

"Will this system run most games at 1080P?... will use 3 monitors (for me with eyefinity)."

R9 270X 2GB is good enough for one 1080p monitor.
FX-6300 is not the best price/performance gaming cpu right now. You should try a budget H97/Haswell Refresh I3/I5.

You could build a better system by not wasting money on the extra stuff, also eyefinity would make your games run like garbage with just that one card:

An hDD and windows 8 still boot up fast enough that you won't see huge improvements from an SSD, and an SSD that small won't really be useful as you wouldn't even have the space to install the "big" games on it.

The r9 270x has 2gb and 4 gb editions. Both are viable to buy for me. Would a 4gb edition be better with this set up? Also i already have a FX 6300 that im going to OC with liquid cooling. Basically im building this setup to be a "Boyfriend VS Girlfriend" type deal. We both game together, Diablo 3 ROS, WoW, Rift, Age of Empires, BF4, Skyrim, assassins creed, and she likes sims >..> And i chose 16 gb just for a future proof type deal. GPUs sell like twinkies to a fat kid on craigslist where i live so when games come out that we cannot play together we can always sell and upgrade. I figured with liquid cooling on the FX 6300 i could OC it to about 4.5ghz roughly, on a stock cooler im currently at 3.9ghz no problems

FX6300 is 3yr old tech, with no real worthwhile upgrade options.

You already have one FX 6300 that you are going to OC with liquid cooling, right? With a good 990FX mobo you should reach 4.5GHz all right.

But you are building 2 rigs, right? "Boyfriend VS Girlfriend" type deal.

So why not to get a simple H81/H97 motherboard and a cheap i5-4440/i5-4460 w/ stock cooler for your Girlfriend´s rig? No fancy motherboard, No fancy liquid cooling either.

And see how your liquid cooled 4.5GHz FX-6300 go against a stock i5 playing MMOs.

:D

Yeah, I think a worry free low cost girlfriend build is probably a better idea and you can do whatever high mantinence build for yourself that you want:

Not really an intel guy. So thats out of the question. Idk what the don't hijack other threads thing is about but okay? Also, just because something isnt current gen doesnt mean its not a good product. I've had my FX 6300 for 4 months now and i've had zero problems with it on the stock cooler OC'd. While i've had numerous intel processors just poop on me. 3.5 ghz 6 core processor for 100 bucks sounds better to me than a 4.0ghz quad core 250$ intel processor.

You uhh, should probably read up then on the actual differences. ghz and cores don't mean anything when comparing CPUs.

OP does not want to give his Girlfriend a far stronger intel gaming rig.
Its supposed to be a "Boyfriend VS Girlfriend" type deal.
Not a NASCAR vs F1 type dial :D

The hijack comment was for another person. Another mod deleted the post, after my comment. I cannot recommend AMD right now. Even at 4.5ghz, an FX 6300/6350 cannot beat my 3570k, at stock. AMD has more cores, but they are far weaker, than an Intel core. Hopefully AMD's new Zen arch will bring back some much needed competition.

From one "non Intel" guy to another I feel your pain. I myself had the misfortune of buying a Pentium 4 back in the day and was lied to by the hardware experts and Intel:fou:. Back then Intel instead of fixing their crappy processors decided it was easier to just do industrial sabotage using their complier (which is used in the development of all major benchmark software to this very day:ouch:). Anywho, any time you go on these forums and ask for gaming advice your going to be bombarded by the "build Intel or build nothing" posts. Well, here is the truth plain and simple: Intel is more powerful core per core vs AMD (as if that hasn't been beaten to death enough by now) and AMD has "moar cores". The fact of the matter is this both processors (FX 6300 or i5) will play all the games you listed and if your not running FRAPS overlay to watch your FPS instead of actually playing the game then your not going to ever notice the difference in game.

Most of the last generation games (like the ones you listed) ran on DX 9 - DX 11 and were mainly GPU bound games (much more important to have a very powerful GPU than CPU). Now with games using DX 9 - DX 11 Intel does have an advantage because in layman terms only one core / thread can communicate with the GPU. If that one core / thread got maxed out it would cause a dreaded GPU bottleneck. Intel having stronger core per core performance didn't have as many bottlenecking issues as AMD. However in July Windows 10 with DX 12 is releasing and by the end of the year games will be using DX 12. DX 12 enables 8 cores to communicate with the GPU and therefore AMD bottlenecks will no longer happen. That was why Intel is favored over AMD for gaming, but DX 12 will make the AMD 6 and 8 core processors much better at gaming than ever before. If your already gaming on a FX 6300 and happy with it then why jump to Intel?

As for my suggestion if I were you I would give my girl the 6300 rig and when building a rig for myself I would go with FX 8350 or even better a FX 8370. I don't know where you live, but if there is a Micro Center nearby they are your best friend. I bought my FX 8370 for $150 (at Micro Center) and its a true beast. Cinebench R15 score of 730 @ 4.5 Ghz, Passmark score of 10,755 cpu (only two benchmarks I use). I play Skyrim with over 100 active mods @ 1080p Ultra settings no problem, Witcher 2 1080p Ultra, and Shadow of Mordor 1440p (just because it was suggested my monitor isn't 1440p) all Ultra. If you saw my system next to an i5 you wouldn't be able to tell which one was which.

Recommended AMD builds (keep you gaming for at least the life span of the current consoles- PS4 ~ 5 years)
FX 8350 or FX 8370 - the 8370 is actually better, uses less power and has slightly better performance
MSI 990FXA-GD65V2 motherboard or another good quality 990 board - I personally love Asus but they are pricy
or you could also go to a FX 8370E or FX 8320E and use the MSI 970 Gaming AM3+ motherboard which may be best bang for your buck:D
GPUs are pricey, so I'm not going to recommend one, however I love my R9 290, eats any game I throw at it

Believe me you can get great gaming performance out of an AMD rig:D

Probably the best, honest answer i've gotten so far. Thank you. I don't care about my FX 6300 beating some guys i5 over some miner %. All i care about is me and my girlfriend playing the same games with decent performance. Yes, we're building the SAME........ EXACT.......... RIGS............ I Guess i cannot stress that enough so that if something does go wrong i can fix it. I guess thats hard to grasp or i didnt mention it. Me and her finally decided, and no i don't care what you guys suggest whats better, or that its a poor decision. But we're going with GTX 960's. Me a 4gb and her a 2gb only because ill be playing more games that will require more vram to be used. THAT BEING SAID. They both require an 8 pin connector(s) and for the life of me i cannot find any on new egg or best buy or anything. Can someone please link me a cheap, name brand 8 pin 500ish watt power supply??!!

If you want identical systems, the FX 6300 will be more than enough for gaming for some time to come. You can't go wrong with GTX 960s either. I love AMD products, but the R9 GPUs would require more than a 500ish PSU. To be honest, the GTX 960 is your best bet. When the new DX 12 games come out your 6300 rigs will make good use of the new API:D

GTX960 is actually quite a good option for your FX-6300 gaming builds.
You will need a quality PSU for your oced rig. I know 2 really good options for just 50 bucks :)

1. Antec EarthWatts Platinum Series 550W. 50 bucks after rebate (+ 10% off w/ promo code EMCASNK78, ends 5/26).
It is a $110 Platinum PSU for only $50 after rebate. Great option for your oced rig indeed.

2. Seasonic S12 II Bronze 520W (10% OFF your order (up to $10) w/code: TRIBUTE10 (expires 5/25).
Really good Seasonic PSU. Best brand i know. Just $50 today.

Good luck mate :D
