Possible GPU failure?

I've been advised that what is happening to my screen in the picture below is the result of a faulty GPU. I may be in denial, but I'm finding this hard to believe. It happened after loading up the game Red Orchestra 2 for the first time. The game crashed, and I received a error message saying "rogame.exe has stopped working" (This is a very common reason for RO2 crashing). Before running that I was able to run other games perfectly such as Arma2, which is a lot more graphically intense. If my GPU really is faulty, why would it only give up now? After a game that is not in any way hard for it to handle?

It was not over clocked originally (as far as i'm aware), this is my GPU http://www.asus.com/ie/Graphics_Cards/R9290DC2OC4GD5/... However, I did think this might be a problem, so I stupidly went tinkering with the overclock settings, and now my screen looks pretty much like this

. Any idea if there is anyway to reset it all? I tried deleting + reinstalling drivers but that did not work.. I think i'm after messing up something real bad :(
