[SOLVED] Possible GPU problem? Vertical Green Bar

Hello,

Yesterday the computer was working fine, but this morning on boot I get green bars on the screen (bios and booting screen), and windows won't load.

I suspect that the GPU is dying or already dead, but I wanted to make sure before I bought another one.

Specs:
AMD FX-8320
2x 4GB DDR3
MB: M5A97
AMD Radeon HD 6870 1GB

I've had quite a few GPUs die and quite a few of those died with either a green screen or some sort of green something.

I had an RTX 2080Ti die recently to a green screen and it was pretty much the exact same color green as you are seeing......so I am suspecting the same thing you are suspecting.

I just ordered a new GPU. Gigabyte RX570.
I didn't realize how old the other one was. 7 years old already!
