My Brother in law gave my 13 year old son a decently expensive gaming computer and we've ran into a snag. My son dropped something and it hit the HDMI bending the sleeve on the cable and ripping it out of the GPU. Now the monitor will not receive a signal with the new cable. There appears to be no visible damage. is it possible that the GPU is ruined? What's the best way to troubleshoot this situation? Its a Radeon GPU

Thank You

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

There should be another display output port on the discrete GPU. Also, Radeon is AMD's GPUs. Which Radeon do you have?
Thank you, Lutfij.
So far we have ordered 3 different monitor cables to see if we can get into the computer and find the GPU info but have been unable to. That includes every USB port. My son mentioned that when he would be playing games before this that if he bumped the computer slightly that the monitor would lose connection as if is a connection that's loose. Please see attached links to pictures of the back of the computer and the actual graphics card.

Thank You.
Steve

I think you should be fairly unlucky if the GPU is done by dropping something on the HDMI cable which caused it to be pulled out but there is probably a couple of things you can initially check to troubleshoot a bit. Sounds a bit more like the cable broke but that is fairly rare as well. Could of course also be the port on the GPU itself, but I doubt the card itself is broken.
Your son telling the monitor losing connection, if the computer was bumped into, is a fairly good indication that the problem was there before hand and now a connection has been lost completely.

Does the fans spin on the GPU when powering on the computer?
If there is only one HMDI port on the GPU you could try to get a DisplayPort->HMDI cable and test one of those ports (remember DisplayPort-HMDI is directional)
