Setting aside the budget. I was just wondering if this mobo can handle gtx gpus. Mid end gtx, perhaps. Thanks in advance.
The mobo has a PCI-e 2.0 16x slot, so in theory will take most new GPU's. Apart from GTX10xx series. The mobo doesn't have a UEFI bios (i think, not 100% certain), so the GTX10 series may work. But a GTX560ti//660ti/750ti/950/960 should work. Out of those prob the 750ti, with no additional power requirements, and the CPU you currently have would be the best option for a bit of balance.
What is your budget? Also, with that older tech, your CPU will hold back the performance (significantly) of nearly all newer GTX offerings. What GPU are you using now?
The truth is that you can spend money on a new GPU and watch is get gimped by 50% or more because of the limitations of of the old athlon X2 and motherboard.
