So my brothers PC is about 3 years old and was running strongish till last week. So let me run you through a life time of his computer.
Few months after it was purchased the computer decided to turn its self on nearly every night for no reason. Possibly boot on network signal in the BIOS? Never checked so couldnt say for sure.
Now in the past months the computer was forgetting its BIOS settings. Soon after the computer would have a 50/50 chance to boot properly. Now by this i mean, if you turn off the computer and power it on again it would either A) Turn on with no display or anything on the screen. B) Start Perfectly normal. After a few power cycles it would eventually turn on. It was taken into a tech to see what was wrong with it and to our disappointment the computer decided to behave for the tech so he couldn't diagnose the problem.
A week later the computer decided to make the chance it would boot properly down to a 1/10. So we sent it off again in hopes the tech could find the problem. Alas it worked properly for him yet again.
Now it refuses to boot. It will turn on but nothing is on the screen. No POST codes or anything. I'm fairly sure its the motherboard but just wanted someone elses advice just to make sure. I have tried power cycling, re seating the Graphics card, booting without the graphics card, different monitors, different dvi cables but with no success. If anyone has any idea what it could be please let me know. Ill probably take the pc into a tech again this week hopefully it stays dead for him.
