Possible HDD Failure?

So. Last week, I bought my wife SIMS 4 and it has been having constant blue screens. Obviously, I assumed it was the program, but turns out I recently had a blue screen when watching Youtube videos. I was scared at first, because I did not want to believe that my gaming computer had a serious hardware issue. I ran system mechanic which I purchase before SIMS, and I had defrag and run performance boosting routines (shouldve mentioned that before). I figured it was a HDD error so I ran a recovery, Diskchk and all that jazz. Turn out i had 13 gigs of files missing. I ran diskchk and it claimed to recover the files. Then the computer started to have random freezes which cause programs to (stop working) according to Task manager and startup speed would vary. Reran Diskchk through System Mechanic and again 13 gigs of files missing/misaligned. Same problem over and over. So I re-installed windows, and that didnt work for long. Same 13gigs error. Am I right, possible HDD failure is nigh?

On a related note, my brother gave me a 1tb HDD to try to compare to mine. But everytime I try to use it the Partition disappears and I have to go to Disk Management to rescan for use. Is this related to the C Drive? Even have a tough time trying to install Windows on that HDD, which I cannot do for some reason. If this partition missing problem is solved I can use it a second storage, but it disappears and I have to manually bring it back. Thanks btw.

Solution
yeah it is .throw it away it will die soon. copy data somewhere else while its somewhat working. at this stage disckcheck defrag just speeds up the process of dying.
Most of the HDDs i've owned have died spinning, never really experienced a BSOD because of an HDD. Any chance you remember the error code from the BSOD?

On your related note, are you unable to see the drive at all and must refresh (rescan) to see the drive? Or is just the partition containing Windows disappearing after the install?

I do not have the error code number. Ironically it said it was shutting down to protect the harddrive.

On the related note, I must refresh to see the drive. I know it works, but I am just curious as to why I must do that sometimes. I havent even been able to try to install windows on it.

Though so. I may just have to cough up some money on a HDD lol. Knowing something in my PC died or is dying is a terrible feeling.
