Hi everyone.

Yesterday I pulled my GPU out and did not push the level down far enough and I heard a loud cracking noise when I pulled it out. I checked the GPU and there doesn't appear to be any damage. I am worried that I have damaged the GPU slot on the motherboard though. I have taken a picture of the GPU slot. It seems to have all of the pins still there but there are some white marks in a couple of areas in the very inside of the slot. Are they anything to be worried about? I have attached a picture. The camera is not very good and I had to use flash so while it doesn't look in good condition it is actually perfect apart from those white marks inside the GPU slot.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks for the reply Jojesa.

I have the GPU on the slot currently and haven't noticed any issues so far.

Are those white marks anything to worry about in the future or is that normal for the PCIe slot to have those marks?
Those white marks are on the plastic and could have been left by the GPU.
If those marks were in the gold contacts then it could be another story.
Just don't play with the voltage switch, that could kill your components.

It doesn't look bad on the photo.
The only way you will know is by placing a GPU on the PCIe slot.

Thanks Jojesa. I will take your advice and hopefully everything will be fine. It has really been stressing me out the past few days since I incorrectly pulled out the GPU and heard a large cracking sound. Having to replace the motherboard or even GPU would be an absolute nightmare.
